João Fernandes beach

The Joao Fernandes is a lovely spot, but very busy, expensive and touristy. It has a sandy beach, located in the northeast of the peninsula and is very popular with surfers. It is one of the most famous beaches of the peninsula. By minibus you will spend about half an hour from the city center to come here. If you are not a surfer and only want to chill then Praia de Geribá » is a good alternative. Larger, cheaper and not so overpopulated. In high season (Christmas until the end of March) the beach is extremely crowded. In the off season everything is relaxed again. At the eastern end of the beach you get sun until 5 pm. The beach is lined with overpriced restaurants and bars. The water is clear and warm. From or to Praia dos Ossos » you can walk on foot in 10 minutes. Alternatively you come for R $ 10 pp by taxi boat (taxi Marítimo ») from the pier on the Rua das Pedras comfortably here.

There is (still) beautiful coral for snorkeling. Water sports such as kayaking, stand-up paddle etc. is offered.
